About the competition
This annual competition will, this coming season, be in its 15th year and is open to all secondary schools in Ashford and the surrounding area. The intention of the competition is to encourage photography as an art form and to harness the enthusiasm of both the art departments and pupils, so generating a healthy competitive element.
The competition is managed by a small sub-committee and we are pleased to say that we are expecting to have 7 schools competing this year. Givaudan, a local fragrance company, has once again offered to be our main sponsor for this year's event, for which we are truly grateful. There are trophies and prizes to be won by individual entrants together with a shield to be awarded to the winning school.
The competition format is as follows:
The are 6 print categories : Artistic Interpretation, Landscape, Natural History, Photo Journapsm, Pictorial and Portraiture.
