KCPA Digital Images Competition - Saturday October 7th 2006
The Kent County Photographic Association Digital Images Competition was held at Detling Village Hall on Saturday October 7th. Ashford won the Trophy for the second year running with an image entitled 'Saggers Strikes' by Mick Gilburt LRPS. Two Gold Medals were also won by Ashford members – Mike Auger CPAGB won the Nature Section with 'Leopard in Serengeti National Park' and Alan Crotty CPAGB (who won the trophy last year) won the Pictorial Section with 'Cottages in Little Langdale'.
Seven Certificates of Merit were also awarded to Ashford members: Alan Crotty CPAGB (2) Roy Entwistle, Michael Sinden, Marie-Laure Stone CPAGB and John Woodward LRPS (2)
KCPA Handley Shield and Carter Cup - 23rd September 2006 in Eastbourne
The Kent County Photographic Association inter-club slide competition known as the Handley Shield (for colour slides) and the Carter Cup (for monochrome slides) was held on 23rd September in Eastbourne. Ashford has been the outright winner for the last 4 years. This year however there was a three way tie for 1st place between Ashford, Rye and Tonbridge Clubs. The Carter Cup was won by John Wigmore of Ashford and distinction certificates were awarded to Ashford members Alan Crotty (2), Bob Devine and Helen Taylor.
