Ashford Photographic Society Inter-Schools' Print Competition 2011
This annual competition is now in its 12th year and is open to all secondary schools in Ashford and the surrounding area. This year over 350 prints have been entered, which is a fantastic achievement in itself. The intention of the competition is to encourage photography as an art form and to harness the enthusiasm of both the art departments and pupils, so generating a healthy competitive element.
The competition format is as follows:
The are 6 print categories : Pictorial, Landscape, Natural History, Photo Journalism, Artistic Interpretation and Portraiture.
age groups : 11 to 15 yrs. and 16 yrs. & over.
Entries are limited to 3 per pupil per category. There is no limit to the number of pupil entries per school.
The winner of each of the 12 age/categories receives a trophy (donated by Ashford Photographic Society) and a certificate.
The winning school is determined by awarding points for the number of 1st, 2nd & 3rd places scored in each category and the winning school receives a shield (donated by Ashford Photographic Society).
